Interested in becoming a lifeguard for the City of Richmond? Lifeguard Bootcamp will be offered at City of Richmond pools, including the Richmond Swim Center and the Richmond Plunge, starting Jan. 9.

Lifeguard Bootcamp is provided to competent swimmers who need some help to pass the lifeguard pre-course skills. Paid training at $16.64 per hour is offered to Richmond residents between ages 16-30.

“Our goal is to help each participant pass the pre-course skills, join the lifeguard course,
then start working as a Lifeguard at City of Richmond pools,” officials said.

Anyone who can pass the basic skills requirement and wants to be a lifeguard for the
City of Richmond can join the Bootcamp.
