The Richmond Plunge is welcoming community members to dive into the festive spirit Sat., Oct. 28 when its “Floating Pumpkin Patch” event returns a black cat’s hair before Halloween.

A singularly Richmond event, the Floating Pumpkin Patch encourages kiddos to wade into the water to pick their own pumpkin to take home, included in the price of admission ($10 per child resident and $7 for adult residents age 18 and older).

Community members can choose a splashy pumpkin-picking time from two available one-hour sessions starting at 1:15 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. at the Plunge.

“Get ready to float, pick your pumpkin and enjoy a memorable day of autumn fun,” stated the City of Richmond on behalf of the Plunge.

Important to note is that kiddos age 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the pool, while children age 9 and above need to have a supervising adult present, per the Plunge.

Also, all community members entering the pool/floating pumpkin patch should purchase admission. The Plunge said that non-swimmers are also required to register and pay the $2.50 non-swimmer fee. To secure your spot for the floating pumpkin patch, register here (On the page, pick the left side “Activities” icon and scroll down the page list to select the Floating Pumpkin Patch).
