A home in Richmond’s Greenridge Heights neighborhood was badly damaged in a fire Sunday evening, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union representing city firefighters.
Richmond and ConFire crews responded to the blaze in the 2100 block of La Mirada Drive. A Richmond crew arrived first on the scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from one half of the two-story split-level residence, Local 188 reported.
The majority of the flames were under control within 10 minutes, and thankfully no injuries were reported, which Local 188 attributed to good teammwork among fire departments.
“Unfortunately, the large amount of fire caused extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the upper floor of the home,” Local 188 stated.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately available.
