The Washington Elementary PTA and the Point Richmond Business Association are inviting the community to a vibrant outdoor festival in Downtown Point Richmond this Friday.

Kermes Viva Cultura! will take place Friday, Sept. 22, from 4-8 p.m.

The free event, held for Washington Elementary students, families and the community, will feature live music from multiple groups including Mission Bohemia Trio, Los Nadies and Mariachi San Francisco.

The event in Point Richmond will also include food, small artisan vendors, and community resources “to reflect the beauty of our Spanish-speaking cultures and customs,” organizers said.

Kermes refers to a traditional outdoor festival in Latin America, and the Washington Elementary PTA is hosting this event to enable students learning Spanish at their school to experience the language out in the local community.
