The Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.), a nonprofit that supports women in education, is ringing in the season of sharing with a Holiday Boutique fundraiser Sat., Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.at Arlington Community Church, 52 Arlington Ave. in Kensington. The nonprofit’s chapters from Richmond, Berkeley, Oakland and Alameda will be participating.
The fundraiser, which will raise support for projects, will feature a cornucopia of handmade items for sale, such as jewelry, baked goods, fruit preserves and more. Also included in this year’s selections will be 50 Hawaiian muumuus for sale for $5 each.
Debra Robinson of Richmond and Ellen Creighton, a Pittsburg resident who creates jewelry, are among the chapter members contributing specialties to the fundraiser.
P.E.O. is an international nonprofit established more than 100 years ago to help women “reach for the stars” in education through grants, awards, loans and scholarships, according to member Karen Mayers. Learn more about P.E.O. here.
