Authorities are investigating recent fatal shootings that claimed the lives of two San Pablo men, including a homicide Saturday night in Richmond and a separate homicide on Tuesday, June 21, in North Richmond.
On Saturday, June 25, at about 9:50 p.m., the Richmond Police Department responded to a 911 call about a shooting in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. A man was in critical condition from at least one gunshot wound, police said. When officers arrived, they found a good Samaritan giving first aid to the victim. The officers continued to provide first aid until medics arrived, but the victim, identified as 31-year-old Juan Martinez, was pronounced dead at the scene a little after 10 p.m., police said.
No suspect been identified or arrested.
On Tuesday, June 21, at about 2:53 p.m., two people were shot in the 1700 block of Giaramita Street, according to the East Bay Times, citing Contra Costa Sheriff’s spokesperson Jimmy Lee.
One of the victims, identified as 41-year-old Leandre Hubbard of San Pablo, died at the scene. Few details have been released about the homicide, and Lee told the Standard Monday there were no updates regarding the investigation.
