A man was fatally shot in Richmond Thursday night.
At 7:41 p.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detection system activation in the area of S. 16th Street and Virginia Avenue, about two blocks east of Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, according to Richmond police Capt. Al Walle. The victim was located on the street and he died at the scene, Walle said.
He was identified as Christion Barrett, 23, a resident of Vallejo.
The investigation is ongoing. Further details weren’t immediately available.
