West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Chris Hurst issued a recent notoice to the school community that all district students 12 and older must be fully vaccinated before Mon., Jan. 3, 2022. The vaccination deadline marks the WCCUSD’s first day back to academic instruction following its Winter Recess.

The WCCUSD previously issued a notification to district families of the vaccination deadline, which recommended students in that age group receive their first COVID-19 vaccination dose by Nov. 15 and their second dose by Dec. 15.

Walk-in vaccinations are available at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium, 403 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond, Tues. through Sat. (closed Thanksgiving) from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and also at LifeLong Medical Care’s William Jenkins Health Center, 150 Harbour Way in Richmond. Click here for the center’s future availability.

Anyone wanting to schedule a vaccination appointment with Contra Costa County Health Services can do so here.

Vaccinated students should upload their vaccination documentation to the WCCUSD’s website here. Those using a Chromebook can follow these instructions to snap a pic of the vaccination card and upload it to the district’s portal, per the WCCUSD. The district has made an online tutorial to show families how to upload their student’s vaccination documentation: Click here for instructions and here for the video. Students can also submit a paper copy of their vaccination card at their school.

Families not intending to vaccinate their student should inform the WCCUSD by entering that info in the district’s online portal.

Sup. Hurst expressed his appreciation to families for their help in getting students vaccinated soon “to ensure our schools are as safe as possible for our entire school community.”
