A 38-year-old man was fatally shot at the Pullman Point Apartments in Rchmond Thursday night, and a 24-year-old man has been arrested for the murder, police said.
Just after 9:30 p.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detection activation in the 2900 block of Pullman Avenue. While en route, dispatchers were advised that a gunshot victim had arrived at Kaiser Hospital in Richmond, police said.
Alex Otis, a Richmond resident, succumbed to injuries sustained in the shooting, police said. He died at the hospital shortly after 10 p.m.
Detectives determined the shooting occurred in the Pullman Point Housing Complex at 2989 Pullman Ave. and followed an argument.
“The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Richmond resident for the murder,” police said.
The suspect’s name was not being released pending criminal charges by prosecutors.
The shooting marked Richmond’s 19th homicide of 2020.
