Shopping at the Richmond Farmers’ Market on Fridays has just gotten more affordable for CalFresh/EBT users thanks to Fresh Approach, which has launched a Market Match program there.
As part of the program, CalFresh/EBT users can now double their benefit when they visit the info table between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Fridays before shopping at the Richmond Farmers’ Market, located at 25th and Barrett Ave. According to Fresh Approach, participants receive a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10 a week when using their EBT card.
Meanwhile, Fresh Approach’s Mobile Farmers’ Market is still running every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza in front of the Richmond Public Library. The market on wheels is open to everyone; Fresh Approach offers a 50 percent discount to those receiving federal benefits such as EBT, WIC, SSI, SSDI, MediCal or unemployment. However, Fresh Approach has ended its COVID 50 percent off for all discount at this time.
