Man found fatally shot in Richmond home identified

The man who was found fatally shot in his residence near Shields-Reid Park on Saturday has been identified as 34-year-old Daniel Hernandez-Lopez.

Just before 10 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Alamo Avenue on a report of a homicide. A friend of the deceased went to Hernandez-Lopez‘s home to check on his welfare and found that he had been shot, police said.

Richmond police are investigating the case as a homicide. There are no known suspects at this time and detectives are currently following up on leads, Richmond police Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy said.
