A man was seriously injured as the result of a suspected DUI crash near the Ferry Point tunnel in Point Richmond Sunday morning, police said.
At 10:12 a.m., Richmond police responded to an injury accident at Dornan and Western drives, where a motorist who had conducted a u-turn at the Ferry Point tunnel struck a passing truck, which then crashed into several parked cars, police Capt. Al Walle said.
A man who was loading items in his car was pinned between two vehicles, police said. An air ambulance landed at Washington Elementary to transport the victim to a trauma center. The victim was in serious but stable condition, and the motorist causing the accident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Walle said.
