North Richmond residents can dispose of items for free on June 27

North Richmond residents wanting to toss out certain old items will be able to do so for free at a community cleanup event on Saturday, June 27, hosted by the Community Housing Development Corp.

Residents who live in North Richmond and Triangle Court will be allowed to drop off certain items for free from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m at six different locations, including Shields Reid Park, 2nd and Market, Giaramita and Verde, Sanford and York, 4th and Grove, and Martin Drive–Parkway Estates between Reid and Lucy Lane.

Acceptable items at all six locations include: household trash, glass, wood, chairs, tables, couches, broken toys, clothing, box springs, mattresses, rugs/padding and yard waste.

Acceptable appliance and electronic items include: dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens and stoves, washers and dryers, small appliances, televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, copy and fax machines, printers, scanners, digital cameras, video game consoles and games, house and cell phones, and cables. These items need to be separated from the rest and are only being accepted at the Shields Reid Park location.

Pick-up appointments are available for seniors and disabled residents only. Appointments are limited and provided on a first come, first serve basis. For residents interested in scheduling a pick-up appointment, call Tiphanee Smith at 510-231-3010 by Wednesday, June 24.
