Nationally known writer, political activist and social media influencer Shaun King is reportedly expected to appear at campaign events in Richmond for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Tuesday.
On Dec. 23, the New York-based King announced on Twitter he would be “traveling to California for the next 10 days to campaign around the clock for @BernieSanders up and down the state.”
Since then, a Facebook event posting by the Sanders campaign stated King would attend free barbershop talks in Richmond on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Exclusive Shoes, 4926 McBryde Ave. at noon, and then at D-Boys Barber Shop at 12558 San Pablo Ave. at 1 p.m.
The free events are circulating on social media. Former Richmond Councilmember Jovanka Beckles, a Sanders supporter, is among those who promoted the event.
Tickets are not required and entrance is provided on a first come, first served basis for the event.
