An off-duty Richmond police officer was involved in a fatal shooting in Vallejo tonight, police said.
Vallejo police responded to a shooting at about 5:25 p.m. in the 500 block of Fairgrounds Drive. Officers found a victim at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene, police said.
The other person involved in the shooting remained at the scene and was determined to be an off-duty Richmond police officer. The identity of the police officer wasn’t immediately released.
The Vallejo Police Department is jointly investigating this incident with the Solano County District Attorney’s Office.
