You can now access a fresh cup of Catahoula Coffee daily in Point Richmond — and also delicious beer and locally-sourced foods.
The highly anticipated Point Richmond Social Club has opened at 401 S. Garrard Blvd. with both attractive outdoor and indoor seating.
Launched by Tim “Timber” Manhart, owner of the popular Catahoula Coffee operating on San Pablo Avenue near Interstate 80, the new hot spot is more than an artisan coffee shop.
It is also well-equipped with locally-sourced food and beer options. In our visit this morning, the establishment offered 17 beers on tap, as well as can options including a nice selection from nearby East Brother Beer Co.
A healthy menu of baked foods and cafe-style lunch options also come locally. In fact, items such as the breakfast burrito, sandwiches and hand pies come from the Richmond-based nonprofit Bay Area Rescue Mission. Some of the baked goods come East Bay’s Semifreddis and Richmond’s Muffin Revolution; veggie wraps and salads come from FullSkoop of San Francisco; and Living Vision provides organic coconut yogurts and coconut chai pudding.
The shop opens daily at 7 a.m., and closes at 8 or 9 p.m. depending on the day.
We received great service and hospitality from Sofi Hecht, one of two full-time employees operating the new business.
