The West Contra Costa Unified School District Board of Education voted Wednesday night to cut $12.5 million in expenses, including 82.4 full-time equivalent positions, to close its structural budget deficit and ensure a balanced budget for the next three years, the school district announced.

  1. Blaming charter schools will no longer work under the new governor and administration within a fee years. Unions got what they wanted. And now must heed the warning to be careful what one wishes for.

This is a systematic problem that all school districts will have to deal with. Sweetheart retirement plans and union stronghold contracts will start to collapse districts. It’s what WCCUSD is seeing now…..and still student test scores will be dismal.

In a few years, and after Trump is impeached, charters will be covered in politics as a way out of a crumbling industry.
