Antioch man killed after car leaves road, strikes tree in Richmond

A 28-year-old Antioch man was killed Sunday after his car left the roadway and struck a tree in the area of Richmond Parkway and Goodrick Avenue, police said.

The crash occurred about 1:40 a.m., Richmond police Capt. Al Walle said.

Rafael Delara, 28, of Antioch, has been identified as the victim by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office.

According to police, alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash.
