Contra Costa College will remain closed today due to unpredictable poor air quality caused by the Camp Fire in Northern California.

All three Contra Costa Community College District schools will remain closed, including Diablo Valley College and Los Medanos College, the district announced.

Meanwhile, West Contra Costa Unified School District schools are also closed for all five days of Thanksgiving Week, although that is not related to the poor air quality. The district had already planned on taking the week off. WCCUSD schools and offices reopen on Monday, Nov. 26.

“This is the first year the District has closed for the entire week,” the district said. “The week off is well-timed, giving students and staff a much needed break after the smoke-filled week.”

Salesian College Preparatory announced school will be in session today.
