Richmond police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Wednesday morning.
At 9:11 a.m., officers responded to a roll-over collision at 24th Street and Esmond Avenue, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.
The victim said he was traveling north on 24th Street with a white car tailing closely behind him. As the victim turned westbound onto Esmond, the suspect vehicle “sped up and crashed into his car, flipping his Jeep Renegade onto its side,” Walle said.
The suspect vehicle, described only as a white car with two occupants, was last seen fleeing south on 23rd Street, Walle said.
The only injury was an abrasion on the right forearm of a passenger in the victim vehicle. He was treated by firefighters at the scene.
That intersection has had some wild incidents lately. On Nov. 6, an attempted carjacking occurred at 24th and Esmond during which the victim was pepper-sprayed in the face as he was driving. The victim sped away from the suspects, Walle said.
