A Richmond man was arrested after leading police on a pursuit down westbound Interstate Highway 80 on Tuesday morning.
The incident unfolded in Hercules, when a police officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation, police said.
The driver, identified as Kennard Anderson, 61, of Richmond, failed to yield and a pursuit began on westbound 80 into Pinole. Although Anderson yielded just before Appian Way, he took off again, but a Hercules police officer was able to block the vehicle and end the pursuit, police said.
In the car, officers located 31 baggies of crack cocaine and 17 baggies of marijuana in makeshift containers. Anderson was arrested for possession of the drugs with intent to sell them. He was transported to County Jail.
