UPDATE: This event has been postponed due to the poor air quality resulting from the Camp Fire.

Planting season is here, and that means tree planting events in Richmond.

Volunteers are encouraged to join the nonprofit Richmond Trees this Sunday at Wendell Park at 24th and Wendell Avenue to assist in the continued transformation there.

“In March of 2018, we began bordering the park with trees by planting them along 26th Street,” according to the organization. “This week we will continue that work by planting them along Esmond.”

Volunteers are asked to meet on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Wendell Park.

Coffee, water and morning snacks will be provided. Bring your own gloves and tools, but Richmond Trees will provide them for those who don’t have them.
