Richmond police are searching for suspects in connection with an attempted carjacking that occurred at 24th Street and Esmond Avenue in Richmond on Tuesday.
The incident was reported to police just after 8 p.m. when a motorist driving east on Esmond, according to Richmond police Capt. Al Walle. As he stopped at a stop sign, a man approached him and pepper-sprayed him in the face, while a second suspect attempted to open his door, Walle said.
The motorist sped away.
The suspects were described as black men in their 40s, both thinly built, one about 5-9 in height with curly hair and wearing a black shirt and pajama-style pants. The other stood about 6-feet and was bald and wore a red shirt and blue jeans. The suspects fled in a white, 4-door sedan, Walle said.
