One person was arrested on suspicion of shooting off firearm in the Iron Triangle neighborhood on Monday — and he wasn’t firing at anyone, but rather shooting his gun as a way to mourn the loss of his brother.

No one was injured in the shooting that occurred about 10:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Triangle Court. Officers in the area heard the shooting and were able to pinpoint its source to the rear of an apartment unit.

“Upon arrival, officers detained a person who had thirteen expended shell casings around him along with a pistol and an extended high capacity magazine that was discarded on the ground,” police said.

This suspect, who wasn’t identified, “admitted to firing this pistol to mourn the loss of his brother” and was arrested, police said.
