Construction of the downtown Richmond Business Hub took a step forward in a visible way today.
The shipping containers set to house Red Bay Coffee and other vendors were being installed Saturday in 10,000-square-foot ground floor space of the Richmond BART parking garage at 17th Street and Macdonald Avenue.
Christopher Whitmore, a staffer in Richmond Mayor Tom Butt’s office, snapped and shared photos from the installation.
The hub will soon house the business incubator CoBiz Richmond, one of several economic investment projects funded by Chevron’s $10 million eQuip Richmond. The coffee shop and a food outlet will operate out of the hip shipping containers within a uniquely designed space, organizers said.
