Two people were arrested on suspicion of reckless driving after the California Highway Patrol said they were caught going over 100 mph in and out of traffic today.

The CHP said it used its latest technology to track the speeding on eastbound I-580 near Marina Bay Parkway.

CHP told Bay City News that there were extra officers on the roadways today following reports of increased incidents of racing on highways or sideshow activity. On the Bay Bridge earlier today, one person was in custody after multiple cars participated in a sideshow on the bridge.

“It’s been a busy morning for the CHP with this activity,” CHP Officer Herman Baza told Bay City News.

CHP says drivers caught in such activity will have their cars impounded for 30 days.
