Three people were shot and injured in the 1000 block of 13th Street in Richmond on Friday night, police said.
About 10 p.m., Richmond police responded to ShotSpotter gun detection activations in the area and found a car stopped with a man unresponsive in the driver’s seat. The woman was found standing next to the car and had also sustained injuries as a result of the shooting. The man is listed in critical condition and the woman in serious condition, police said.
While detectives were investigating the incident, a third victim walked into a local hospital with serious injuries resulting from the shooting.
All three victims remain at a local trauma center, police said.
“At this early stage of the investigation, the shooting appears to be a targeted incident with possible gang affiliation,” according to police. “Detectives are busy conducting interviews and following up on leads. As of this writing, there are no suspects named or arrested. There is also no information about a possible suspect vehicle at this time.”
