Today, the Richmond chapter of the United Urban Warrior Society-California prepared and served a hot lunch to about 145 homeless residents and community members in need at the Souper Center, located at the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program at 165 22nd St.

The U.U.W.S-California Chapter, a national Native organization advocating for human and civil rights for Native Americans, received a generous donation from Rebecca Marlin Pet Care of San Pablo. The donation was used to purchase the food served at the Souper Center.

The UUWS is set to host its 4th Annual Native American Walk for Sobriety on Saturday, July 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Richmond.

The community is invited to join the walk, which starts promptly at 11 a.m. at the Grocery Outlet parking lot at San Pablo and Macdonald avenues, continues down Macdonald to 33rd Street, where bottled water and refreshments will be served at Nicholl Park, and then concludes at the Native American Wellness Center at 2566 Macdonald Ave.
