The 99 Ranch Market is slated to open at the Shops at Hilltop in late 2019, a representative for the mall property’s owner said today.
The supermarket chain’s new location will “also feature an 11,000 square foot food court,” and is part of wide range of changes being envisioned for the 77-acre mall property, which LBG Real Estate Companies recently purchased and has been diligently working to re-imagine.
The 99 Ranch Market will join Macy’s, Sears, Walmart and 24 Hour Fitness at the shopping center, which is slated to become “Asian-centric” to reflect changing demographics in the area. Other improvements are on the way, according to LBG.
Shopping center improvements set for mid-2019:
- Updated community gathering spots
- Major interior and exterior renovations
- New and dynamic wayfinding improvements
- Extensive special events programming
Plans for other parcels at the 77-acre Hilltop Mall Road site:
- Limited-use business hotels
- Creative, co-working office space
- Conventional and/or medical office space
- A variety of residential uses
“The Shops at Hilltop is being reimagined as a vibrant and walkable mixed-use village that will be enjoyed as a community gathering locale in the years to come,” said David S. Goldman, managing partner in charge of leasing for LBG Real Estate Companies.
Managing partner Leslie Lundin said her company is proactively responding to forecasts of significant population growth in the East Bay, particularly in the region’s Asian population, currently estimated at 22 percent. The Asian population here is expected to grow over 10 percent by 2023, she said.
