Deputies release vehicle believed to be connected to North Richmond homicide

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff has released an image of a vehicle believed to be connected to a shooting that killed Taison Calderon-Lopez, 22, in North Richmond last week.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue or black Jeep Grand Cherokee, possibly a 2016 model. The suspect is described as an unknown race male, mid-20s, with dark hair and wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, sheriff’s officials said.

The homicide occurred just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, when deputies were called about a person being shot in a vehicle in the 500 block of Grove Ave. Deputies arrived and found Calderon-Lopez, 22, of North Richmond and San Rafael, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital and later taken by helicopter to a local trauma center. He was later pronounced deceased.
