Richmond police found a chop shop, firearm, illegal drugs and money while serving a search warrant in a residential area of the city on Tuesday.
And it all happened at the home of a 36 year-old man who happens to be out on bail for attempted murder in Solano County, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said.
The search occurred at a home in the 4300 block of Santa Rita Road, where suspicious activity was reported, Tan said.
During the search, police detectives and a SWAT team found one loaded pistol with an obliterated serial number, two pounds of crystal methamphetamine, numerous individually packaged crystal methamphetamine for sale, 1/4 kilo tar of heroin, numerous individually packaged cocaine for sale, more than 50 ecstasy pills, over $5,000 in cash and three stolen and “chopped” cars with obliterated or switched VINs.
Along with the 36-year-old resident, his 35 year-old female companion was arrested and booked for numerous charges.
“The department is relieved that the suspects complied with the orders given by members of the SWAT team during the execution of the search warrant,” Tan said.
