Fatal I-80 crash victim identified as Vacaville man

Authorities have identified Donald Fitch, 58, of Vacaville, as the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision involving a suspected drunken driver on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Richmond early Saturday.

The collision occurred about 1:40 a.m. near Cutting Boulevard.

Before the crash, California Highway Patrol officers spotted a Toyota Highlander speeding at about 100 mph on the highway.

As the officers attempted to catch up with the SUV, they saw the vehicle hit Fitch’s motorcycle, according to CHP.

The SUV’s driver, identified as 31-year-old Suisun City resident Kevin Paredes-Orozco, allegedly did not stop following the crash. Officers pulled him over and determined he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.
