Health officials are prescribing a day at the park to community members this Saturday, aiming to promote the many health benefits of activities out in nature.
Residents are invited to John F. Kennedy Park in Richmond for the annual Park Prescription Day hosted by Contra Costa Health Services and National Park Service.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., community members can enjoy a number of free health-related activities and resources, including health screenings, yoga, walk with the Doctor, bike rides and repairs, dance, instruction, volleyball, soccer and lunch. Activities will be led by healthcare providers, park agencies, community groups and other program leaders.
