The Richmond Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 12th Annual First Responders BBQ Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The event honoring fire and police personnel will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Richmond Fire Station 64 at 4801 Bayview Ave. and will feature food, drinks, and live music.

While in previous years the fundraising event cost $20 per adult and $10 per child, this year’s event is free, Chamber President and CEO James Lee said in the chamber’s new weekly newsletter. Instead, the chamber asks that donations of any amount be made in order to  assist fire victims, according to a flyer released by the chamber today.

“It is because of the everyday selflessness of these women and men that the Richmond Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual First Responder’s BBQ,” Lee said in his newsletter.
