Cheech Marin coming to Contra Costa College for free event next month

Cultural icon Cheech Marin is set to come to Contra Costa College for “an intimate, entertaining and comical discussion on life and career.”

The Conversation with Cheech Marin will take place in the Knox Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27. The college is located at 2600 Mission Bell Drive in San Pablo.

The event, hosted by Latino Thought Makers and the Contra Costa College Foundation and co-sponsored by Chevron, is free and open to students and the general public on a first come, first serve basis through registration on EventBrite.

Host Rick Najera, creator of Latino Thought Makers, will sit down for a pow wow with Marin, the famous actor, director, comedian, writer, musician, and half of the iconic duo, Cheech and Chong.

Najera is an award-winning writer, director and author, and his Latino Thought Makers series is nationally recognized.  The series showcases the successes and career paths of influential Latino and Latina role models. Previous guests have included Edward James Olmos, Dolores Huerta, Danny Trejo, the family of Cesar Chavez and many more.

  1. I’m a middle schooler from California. Willing to enter Contra Costa College. But I also want to participate in the exhibition at the Knox Performing Arts Center in San Pablo.
