The Point San Pablo Harbor’s Club at 1900 Stenmark Drive is prepping for a fun dinner event steeped in local history on Tuesday, May 22, when it is hosting a Swedish supper and performance by the Oskar Stenmark Trio.

Oskar Stenmark’s ancestor is John Stenmark, who served as the first East Brother Light Station keeper spanning the time from the final partition of Point San Pablo in 1894 through the incorporation of Richmond in 1905. After he retired in 1914, the family operated Stenmark Hotel on 15th Street in Richmond.

That history is fondly recalled ahead of the Oskar Stenmark Trio’s performance on May 22. The band includes Oskar playing fluegelhorn with Finnish bass player Kaisa Mäensivu and American-Ukrainian pianist Alex Pryrodny.

The trio, in the midst of a West Coast tour entitled, “In my Ancestor’s Footsteps,” performs jazz melodies built around traditional Swedish and other folk music. Explore their music on Soundcloud and Spotify.

The Swedish supper, catered by chef Todd Corboy, will occur at 5 p.m., and the show at 7 p.m. Tickets for the show and supper are $35.
