The Armistice Brewery and Taproom is preparing for launch at 845 Marina Bay Parkway, and it’s truly a labor of love for the two siblings behind it.

Gregory and Alex Zobel, brother and sister owners of Armistice Brewing Company, got the green light on the new venue from the Richmond Planning Commission in March and have quickly crafted a tasteful taproom and brewery that’s aimed at becoming a real community gathering space.

“We’ve tried to create three completely different vibes at the brewery so that we can appeal to the diverse tastes of the Richmond community,” said Alex Zobel. “The taproom is traditional with dark wood and warm lighting. The beer garden is sun-drenched and full of communal seating. The upstairs, which we call the Framily Room — for ‘friends and family’ — is designed to be an educational space and a meeting room for local organizations, nonprofits and clubs, complete with a huge redwood table and projector.” She says the venue’s small system and taproom approach will allow them to brew many different styles, and that it will eventually have 24 beers on tap. In addition to bringing residents together, the Zobel siblings hope to give back to the Richmond community as well.

“Each month, we plan to partner with a local organization and put them on the ‘Ally Tap,’ she said. “All month, a dollar from each pint will go directly to that organization.”

The two siblings didn’t always get along growing up, and credit their mutual love of brewing for strengthening their bond as adults. Now they’re hoping that the new brewery and taproom will unite countless local residents in the same manner.

The new taproom will be open from Noon to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from Noon to Midnight on Friday and Saturday. Food trucks are slated to serve the venue on weekends, and visitors are welcome to bring their own food.  Pets will also be welcome!

If all goes well, the Armistice Brewery and Taproom hopes to open its doors at the end of July. You can find out more by visiting their website at
