Richmond is set to hold its 8th annual Healthy Village Festival Saturday, June 24, a free, one-stop health fair and family friendly festival held in downtown Richmond.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the community will gather at the Community Green Space at Harbour Way and Macdonald Avenue, and also to the 900 block of Macdonald Avenue. The festival features produce bag giveaways, artisan vendors, fitness demonstrations, information booths, pony rides, farm animals, music, arts and crafts, and hanging out with Richmond firefighters.
Also, cycling advocacy group Rich City Rides will make bike blender smoothies; Kaiser Permanente physicians will host an “Ask the Doc” session; and mini downtown history hikes that depart at 11 a.m. and noon.
Food vendors at the event will include delicious meals and treats by Rosemary’s Kitchen, serving veggie delight, and Civil Pops, serving organic popsicles. And the community will have the chance to beautify downtown by helping local artist Daud Abdullah transform trash cans into artwork featuring mosaic panels.
