The first annual “Taste of Richmond” is set to take place at Riggers Loft Wine Company on Saturday, May 20.
The event will bring a variety of locally made food and drink samples to the waterfront winery at 1325 Canal Blvd.
The long list of participating eateries, wineries and breweries include Kim’s Louisiana Fried Turkey & Stuff, Up & Under Pub and Grill, Cassandra’s Cakes, Casa Chicas, Assemble, Salute e Vita Ristorante, Benoit Casper Brewing Company, East Brother Beer Company and of course Riggers Loft tenants R&B Cellars, Carica Wines, Irish Monkey Cellars and Far West Cider Company.
“It’s going to be a fantastic event,” said Amanda Elliott, executive director of the Richmond Main Street Initiative and member of the City of Richmond Economic Development Commission. “We expect to grow this event next year. We believe this will really take off.”
The event will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. All samples and tastes are included in the single admission price of $12 or two tickets for $20. Children under 10 are admitted free.
