We should have stopped fiddling around and told you about this great benefit concert sooner.

Tonight at 8 p.m., a prominent fiddler and cellist duo will headline a benefit concert in Berkeley for RotaCare Richmond Free Medical Clinic, which provides free primary healthcare to uninsured children and adults at 2727 Macdonald Ave.

Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas, obvious masters of their instruments, will play at the Freight and Salvage Coffee House at 2020 Addison St. in Berkeley.

Check out some of this YouTube video below of one of their performances (We especially enjoyed a transition at the 2:00 minute mark).

Pate Thompson, a founding member of the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers and “a pretty damn good fiddler to boot” arranged the benefit concert, Mayor-elect Tom Butt said in his e-forum.

“It will be an evening of great Celtic music…from two of the most prominent practitioners in the world, Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas, and all for a good cause in Richmond,” Butt wrote.
