So much happening at St. David School free Fall Festival Saturday: DJ, laser tag, roasted pig

The free annual St. David Fall Festival has pretty much everything for everyone looking to have a blast on Saturday, from a parade to live performances, laser tag, an adult beverage garden and true East Coast Italian food.

School officials are encouraging community members to bring their whole family to the festival at 871 Sonoma St., which will run from noon to 6 p.m., said Rowena McCarthy, board member with St. David School parents group.

The day begins at noon with the school parade, followed by a performances from Broadway Rythm & Dance Co. and Jewels Cheer Squad. A Zumba demo takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and laser tag starts at 6 p.m.

Also celebrate with the school community and parish with a cake walk, photo booth, DJ, adult beverage garden, prize booth, face-painting and some 20 vendors selling wares.

“The food is going to be fabulous,” McCarthy said.  “We have a parent who used to own an Italian restaurant on the East Coast and his food is delicious.  He’ll be making tri-tip, sliders, drumsticks, and a roasted pig (the pig will be ready at 5 p.m.).  Other foods that we will be offering are: Taco booth (fish, shrimp, chicken and steak), hot links, polish sausages, hot dogs, pizza, nachos, sandwiches, corn on the cob, cotton candy, root beer floats, cupcakes.  There is going to be a lot of food.  I’m sure there are things that I’m forgetting.”

Also, bring your insurance card as Walgreens is setting up a health screening and flu shot booth.

While admission is free, tickets to purchase food and games cost $1 apiece, and all proceeds will go directly to enhancing curriculum and other school improvements.

T-shirts sold at $15 for adult sizes and $12 for youth sizes will also support the school.
