This isn’t just the coolest picnic ever, it’s a fundraiser for Point Richmond’s Washington Elementary School and local nonprofits.
The fifth annual “Picnic in the Point — Fall Fest” is set to take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Judge George Carroll Park at Cutting and Garrard boulevards.
The fun event will feature live music by local bands, a number of activities for kids and adults, and of course food and drink.
General admission is free, but tickets will be sold to purchase games, food and drink. All proceeds will help fund enrichment programming at Washington Elementary, a Spanish immersion school in the West Contra Costa Unified School District that serves a low-income community.
Last year’s event raised more than $5,000 for Washington Elementary’s music program.
Advance tickets are available for purchase at the Up and Under Pub at 2 West Richmond Ave. and at Stacey & Company at 51 Washington Ave., Suite C. Twenty dollars in advance ticket purchases will offer a $25 value in tickets for food, beverages and games.
The picnic is a collaborative effort by the Point Richmond Business Association, City of Richmond, Washington School Dad’s Club, Point Richmond Music, and Parents Resources and More (PRAM).
