A 12-year-old figure skating phenom training at the Oakland Ice Center lives in Richmond. Alysa Liu, one of five children being raised by a single father who recently moved his family to Richmond, is a favorite in the women’s junior division and also the youngest in the competition, according to a Mercury News profile.
