A golf coach at Pinole Valley High is facing two felony counts related to the possession of child pornography.
Jeffrey Tadashi Oda served for several years as coach at the school, and as a youth golf coach at the Richmond Golf Course, before investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at his home in Pinole. Numerous images and videos of child pornography were located on his Apple iPhone, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
On Sept. 5, the DA’s Office filed a complaint with the court charging Oda with possession of child or youth pornography and a related charge of possession of over 600 images of child or youth pornography. On Sept. 19, he plead not guilty and posted bail for $100,000.
Oda will next court appear in court on Oct. 23 in Martinez.
The Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office is asking the public to contact the ICAC Senior Inspector with information that could assist the investigation.
