San Pablo police seized 62 guns from a man who allegedly locked his girlfriend and their kids in a room for four days and threatened to shoot them.
Luckily, the victims escaped and the man, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was arrested on charges that include domestic violence, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and criminal threats.
“A total of 62 guns were taken away from him, as he used them to threaten his victim, and an emergency protective order was granted,” police said.
It wasn’t the only significant seizure of weapons within San Pablo last week. A second man was suspected of assaulting his neighbor and shooting out the neighbor’s car windows with a crossbow. He also allegedly threatened to shoot his neighbor with a firearm, police said.
“After barricading himself inside his house, he was ultimately taken into custody by K-9 Cash…and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm, criminal threats, battery, vandalism, and resisting arrest.”
The crossbow-wielding suspect also had an arrest warrant for similar crimes but with a different victim. Police seized a total of 10 guns and the crossbow from him.
“We are happy to report that no one was seriously injured during these very dangerous incidents,” police said. “While we respect and protect people’s constitutional rights, we will not tolerate criminal behavior, especially when you threaten to kill others.”
