A 16-year-old boy was reportedly shot and injured by masked robbers at his home in Hercules early Sunday.

Officers responded to the home in the 1900 block of Phaesant Drive at about 1:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting and contacted two victims who are reportedly brothers. One was not injured and the other, age 16, was suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body and arm, police said. The victim was transported to a local trauma center. On Monday, he was reported to be in serious but stable condition, police said.

The victim who wasn’t injured told police they were in front of their house when they were robbed at gunpoint by three males they did not know who were wearing black clothing, ski-masks and were all armed with handguns.

“The suspects robbed the victims at gunpoint then while fleeing the scene fired several shots at them,” police said. “In addition to hitting one victim, rounds went into two cars and two residences.”

The suspects were associated with a gray four door sedan and were last seen heading down Pheasant Dr. toward Refugio Valley Road.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect vehicle.

“Anyone living in the area of Pheasant Dr up to Sparrow Dr and any of the side streets please check home surveillance systems between 1:00 and 1:30 AM to see if you have video of a possible suspect vehicle driving past your camera(s),” police said.

Anyone having information regarding this case is asked to call the Hercules Police Department (510-724-1111).
