Contra Costa College Student Equity invites the community to “Black Minds Matter,” a free lecture and workshop on issues facing men of color in education.

Professor Luke Wood, San Diego State University, and originator of the Black Minds Matter course, leads this exploration of challenges for black male students of all ages in the classroom – and a look at research-based strategies for improving their success.

The program begins with a lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the General Education Building, Room 225, located at 2600 Mission Bell Drive. That is followed immediately by a workshop, in the same building, Room 113. Contra Costa College is located at 2600 Mission Bell Drive, San Pablo.

Tickets for both the lecture and the workshop are free, but they are separate tickets. For the lecture and more information, go to Lecture Tickets. For the workshop, please visit Workshop Tickets.
