The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District announced today it has reinstated Lewis Broschard as fire chief on an interim basis following his March retirement after 18 years of service.
“Chief Broschard’s return ensures experienced leadership and continuity while the District conducts a search for its next permanent Fire Chief,” District 3 Supervisor and Board Chair Diane Burgis said in a statement.
Fire Chief Broschard was celebrated during what was supposed to be his final shift late last month. He has served three decades in public safety, including 18 years with the district.
