The Richmond City Council officially honored the Richmond Steelers dance group, known as the Rich Girls, for their recent victory at the JAMS National competition in Las Vegas.
The team traveled to Nevada to compete against the best youth dance and cheer teams in the country, ultimately taking home the first-place trophy and the title of national champions.
During Tuesday’s meeting, city officials read a formal proclamation praising the team for their hard work and discipline. The city recognized the achievement as the result of countless hours of practice and strong support from families and coaches.
The celebration moved from words to action when the team performed their winning routine for the council. The high-energy performance drew cheers from the audience and praise from community members.
