The West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) will celebrate the full completion of the new Lake Elementary School campus rebuild with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Jan. 15, from 3-4 p.m. in the school’s multipurpose room at 2700 11th St. in San Pablo.
The first phase of construction was celebrated in 2024. This upcoming event will celebrate the completion of the second phase, which includes a new multipurpose room and a separate wing for T-K and kindergartners. The multi-phase rebuild was funded in part through voter-approved bonds.
District leaders say the celebration will feature remarks from current and former students and parents, as well as local elected officials and community partners. Attendees will also be invited to tour key areas of the new campus, including the kindergarten wing, multipurpose room and cafeteria, and outdoor playground spaces designed to foster active learning and play.
